POEditor imports the strings that contain HTML tags exactly how they are in your file and exports the translations exactly how they appear in the user interface.
When you use the Automatic Translation feature, your strings are sent to the machine translation provider you choose via API. The exact result of their machine translation is then returned to your project. We have no control over what and how Google's, Azure AI Translator's or DeepL's machine translation engines translate.
However, there are some advanced options in POEditor that you can use to try to preserve your HTML tags when using the machine translation.
In case the Google/Azure/DeepL API returns any broken HTML tags to you, you can preview the HTML in your strings to fix it more easily, as well as run the QA checks to look for discrepancies between the source and target strings.
