If your strings contain HTML tags or placeholders, you can follow the tips below to maintain their integrity during translation with integrated machine translation providers.

Use Automatic Translation Advanced Settings

Two of the integrated machine translation engines, Google Translate and Azure Translator, can take HTML tags into consideration while performing the translation. In this sense, you can use the Format > HTML option available in the Advanced Settings of the Automatic Translation feature.

Use the Glossary feature

You can send your POEditor glossaries to Google Translate and include any elements that shouldn't be altered during translation (such as HTML tags and placeholders).

In order for those to not be translated by machine translation engines, you can mark them as untranslatable within the glossary.

Use the Quality Assurance module

The QA checks module is useful after performing the automatic translation, to check whether the placeholders in the source language match the ones in the target one.

QA checks can be run for strings containing HTML tags as well. The module can easily identify the differences between the source and the target language in terms of HTML tags.
