The Translation Memory step in Workflows reuses exact matches from your Translation Memory to fill in languages in your localization projects.
Translate with TM options
As part of multiple workflow templates, this step can be skipped by choosing the option Languages > None.
Inherited will translate only the languages that were affected by the previous action.
Some triggers are incompatible with this option: New terms, Language complete, Language proofread, Reference Language updated.
Custom selection lets you choose which languages you want filled in by the Translation Memory.
If your setup includes a Default Reference Language, you'll likely want to exclude this language.
The option All will search the Translation Memory for matches in all your project languages.
Good to know
The TM feature works with exact matches. If it does not find any exact matches for a term, it also looks at the value in the (Default) Reference Language (if one is set). If it finds an exact match with the string in the (Default) Reference Language, it suggests translations based on it, even if the term is different.
If there is more than one translation variant for a term in the Translation Memory, the TM will fill in your translation boxes with the most commonly used one or, if this criterion is not valid, with the newest one.
