Where Crowdin may be the better choice
Crowdin has Translation Memory from the Free plan (albeit by using it you agree to donate translations to Crowdin's TM). It has 700+ marketplace integrations, adds HIPAA on top of ISO 27001 and GDPR, and a large open-source community. If your team needs HIPAA or leans on Crowdin's marketplace its depth may justify the higher entry point. POEditor is the stronger choice when integration access, billing simplicity and a lower entry price matter most.
Who gets to contribute shouldn't be a budget decision.
Crowdin's seat model does more than affect your bill — it shapes who you're willing to involve in localization at all. When every contributor is a line item, you start making decisions about who gets access based on cost rather than need.
POEditor's unlimited contributor model is a product philosophy, not a pricing trick. Anyone you assign to a project can contribute. There are no seat negotiations, no access tiers, no reason to limit who's involved.
- Unlimited contributors on all paid plans — no per‑seat charges
- Contributors don't need their own POEditor subscription
- Invite translators, developers, reviewers, and community members freely
- Open source projects get unlimited free strings — OSI‑approved licenses qualify
Where POEditor pulls ahead
Teams evaluating POEditor will find three key differentiators compared to Crowdin.
The entry price is 3× lower
Crowdin's Pro plan — the first with unlimited private projects and team features — is $50/mo. POEditor's Start plan is $17, with the same core workflow. Full integration access and all file formats on Crowdin require Team+ at $450/mo.
Fewer billing variables
Both gate features by tier. Beyond that, POEditor adds one variable: string count. Crowdin adds two — hosted words (source words × target languages) and manager seats — so you manage three independent meters as you grow.
Full Git integrations without tier climbing
Crowdin caps integrations per plan: 1 Free, 2 Pro, 3 Team. Self-hosted Git is "Enterprise" — Team+ at $450/mo only. POEditor gives you GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and Azure DevOps on Start ($17/mo), all file formats, no cap.
See the cost before the commit.
Both platforms publish prices. What differs is how many dimensions scale independently — and how much you pay before connecting more than a handful of integrations.

What real users are saying about POEditor
These are actual quotes gleaned from the users of our localization platform over time.
POEditor is a great tool. It's easy to use and offers great support experience. I really like the value for money, it works perfectly for what we need. And what I like most is the fact that the customer support is so helpful. All the feedback I gave until now has been taken into account.
At Remato, we adopted POEditor from day one and have no regrets at all. It's a solid translation management platform that's always done what we need. We manage 19 languages, 2000+ unique words, and 40,000+ total strings and we ship new features each month, so managing translation in a cost-effective manner is critical. This is where POEditor helps us.
POEditor is a super-well designed and user-friendly software to manage your localization files. It is a breeze to set up the localization projects and involve the other team members in them. Integration with GitHub is great for importing the base file, and integration with Slack is great for keeping the team in the loop when there are new terms to translate.
Switching takes less time than your next sprint.
